The Auspicious Corners and Walls
When considering Feng Shui for a home or office, look at the main corners of the property, the building, and the rooms.
The Baqua is an eight-sided symbol used as a map to show which corner and wall of the room represents a specific life energy. Starting at the main entrance to the property or each room in it, and seeing this entrance as the base of the Bagua, this place represents career.
Going clockwise from there, the life energies are wisdom and new knowledge on your left, followed by health. Abundance lies across from you on the left, directly across is fame and reputation. Across from you on the right is the corner for relating, then creativity and children, and finally, directly on your right, helpful people.
General Feng Shui Principles and Elements
- Clearing clutter allows energy to move freely in each corner, whether it be in a building or a garden.
- Matching colors for each corner and wall to the colors in the Bagua brings out the finer qualities of that energy.
- Placing objects, pictures, or crystals of matching colors strengthens the life energy of that area.
- Planting flowers of specific colors in the patio or garden increases the energy and makes the garden more attractive.
Applying Feng Shui
For each room, ask yourself: What qualities are needed for all the people who will be using this room? The qualities could be relaxing, refreshing, creating, calming, etc.
Helpful People
When moving, changing jobs, at a crossroad, or having health issues, the helpful people corner is an important place to keep clean and fresh. The colors are generally white, grey or black. My favorite is to put a clear quartz crystal in this corner to encourage helpful people into your life.
Relationship Corner
If someone wants to invite love into their life, enhance the relationship corner. The colors for the relationship corner are pink, red, or white. Rose quartz is the perfect thing for the relationship corner when using Feng Shui for love. You may place something pink, red or white, such as live or silk flowers, or a picture of a loving couple in this corner.
Money Corner
If you wish to increase your financial income, focus on Feng Shui for wealth. The colors used in this corner are red or purple. Red flowers, an amethyst crystal, or Chinese Feng Shui coins are all great symbols to put in this corner.
Wisdom Corner
When wanting to learn something new, or to invite the mystery into your life, or to connect with your inner world: enhance the new knowledge corner. Blue is the color for this area. I especially like a lapis lazuli gemstone.
Career
The entrance to your house or office affects your career. Whenever possible, place a planter on either side of the door. Keep red flowers or healthy plants there. Red is the color of success.
Fame
The far wall opposite the entrance is for fame or reputation. This is the place to display degrees, certificates, and awards.
Health
The health wall is on the left side as you enter the building or room. Green and vibrant colors are the best, giving you the feeling of healthy, vital energy.
Children and Creativity
The wall for creativity and children is on the right side. Often you see the white color represented on the Bagua for this wall. I also like turquoise. It is a color representing communication and the heart.
